On the Brink of Harvest

September 11th, 2014 | Uncategorized | twleman | No Comments

We have been quite busy getting ready for harvest, so just a quick update on what has been happening.  The crop has been progressing nicely! Late rains have put the finishing touches on the beans. They also happened to bring on a bit of disease that we have been seeing in both crops. The pictures below show white mold in beans and fusarium crown rot in corn. Neither pose a serious issue but have been interesting to find. The potential in both crops is exciting! Machinery is almost all ready to hit the fields.  We got back our Challenger tractor from the shop.  Thankfully, oil sampling had caught a serious transmission issue before the warranty expired and before it even caused any down time. Last but certainly not least, we are excited to have hired a full time employee, Ben, to the team.  We look forward to working with him and are excited for the talents he will bring to the operation.  Stay tuned as harvest updates will be coming soon!
